Cadillac Shop
Manuals
The Cadillac Division designed and published automobile books called Shop Manuals (sometimes referred to as Service Manuals
or Repair Manuals) to give the person repairing or servicing its automobiles the instructions and details needed. In some Cadillac model
years, information about the Chassis and Body are included together in a one volume manual. However, in many other Cadillac model years the
Body information is contained in a separate Fisher Body Shop Manual. If you also need Body information, be sure to ask if you need a Fisher Body
Shop Manual as well as a Cadillac Chassis Shop Manual.
The Cadillac Chassis Shop (Service) Manual includes sections on the suspension, brakes, engine,
clutch, transmissions, exhaust system, steering, wheels and tires, electrical, etc. These Shop Manuals include wiring diagrams. Each section
usually includes blow up diagrams or photos of key components, a description of operation, removal and installation procedures, inspection
and checking procedures and a trouble diagnosis section. With this information and these diagrams you can make your automobile repair or restoration
job much easier and avoid a lot of costly mistakes.
The Fisher Body Shop (Service) Manual contains the essential removal, installation, adjustment and
maintenance procedures to repair and restore all Fisher Body styles for the model year for which it was published. It usually includes sections on
the front end, headlining, roof, folding top, doors, rear quarter, rear end, exterior moldings, seats and electrical for power windows. It contains
many helpful blow up diagrams or photos of key components (labeled, but without part numbers - for part numbers you need to consult a Parts Book)
and information on removal and installation of the various components, as well as adjustments and trouble diagnosis procedures.
